ABOUT JOE

I’m Joe Weaver.

Ghostwriter. Writing coach. Memoir whisperer.

I help first-time authors turn their experiences into books people want to read, told in a voice that’s unmistakably theirs.

My love of stories began with the books I read as a child and grew through my travels and experiences. I’ve called Orlando home since 1997, where my wife of 46 years and I live with our sons, their wives, our granddaughter, and two dogs.

For more than 20 years, I’ve been writing my stories and helping others tell theirs.

The stories I wish I’d saved

As a child, I was captivated by my parents’ stories about growing up during the Great Depression and World War II. I took those stories for granted and never thought to record them. After my parents died, I realized how much had gone with them. I remembered bits and pieces, but their knowledge, memories, and the details I could no longer ask about were lost.

That loss motivated me to write my own stories and encourage others to do the same. Helping people preserve their memories, while they can still share them in their own words, is what gives this work its meaning for me.

Finding meaning in your memories

Writing about your life can help you understand what shaped you and what you want to pass on. It gives family and friends a chance to know you more fully. I’m inspired by that discovery and by helping someone turn their experiences into a story others want to read.

From memories to a finished book

I work especially with first-time authors. You may have a lifetime of memories and no idea where to begin, or a manuscript you’ve struggled to finish. I help you find the people, scenes, and turning points that make your story engaging, while keeping your voice and experience at its heart.

That’s also why I wrote Leave a Lasting Legacy: to give people a practical path from their first memories to a published book. Whether I do the writing or guide you through it, my aim is a book you’re proud to share.

We always have less time than we think.

If you want to tell your story or preserve the memories of someone you love, let’s talk about where to begin.
